The Crown Birdguard and Chimney Cowl is UK manufactured and available in Stainless Steel and then, if required, powder coated to match your Chimney Pot (pictured Chimney Pot is just for illustration).
What is it for?
For use with either live gas systems or live solid fuel systems, the Generic Crown Birdguard can be a great option for a Crown chimney pot. If you have a problem with large birds or squirrels trying to make a home in your chimney then the Generic Crown Birdguard is an excellent defence. The design includes a raincap that helps to prevent all but the most sideways of rainfall.
What sizes & options are available?
The Crown Birdguard and Chimney Cowl sits on the inside of the Crown pot. It fits a Crown pot with an internal diameter from 10.5” to 14″ (267mm to 356mm) and a height of up to 11” (280mm).
The Crown Birdguard and Chimney Cowl will not fit all Crown pots, if you need any help or advice, or require a different size, please contact us.
Please note, a minimum of 5” (125mm) of unobstructed mesh height must be allowed between the highest point on the chimney pot/outlet and the underside of the raincap. This is required to ensure adequate ventilation of combustion fumes. The Generic Crown Birdguard has a mesh height of 16” (407mm) , so if your pot is more than 11” (280mm) please contact us for a special Birdguard.
The Generic Crown Birdguard is made from either aluminium or stainless steel and can be either natural (unpainted), or powder coated in terracotta, buff or black.
How do I fit one?
The Generic Crown Birdguard is fitted to the chimney pot via the use of a simple and secure leg and stainless steel strap system. This fixing method is only suitable for Crown pots that are in two parts, if your pot doesn’t have two parts please contact us and we will be happy to go through the alternatives.
